Housed at, the First floor of P 392A Purnadas Road, Kolkata 700029 Café Yonder is more than just another coffee shop and offers a wide variety of delicious gourmet foods and a whole new bunch of freshly added confectionary items.
Café Yonder is soon to step into its first birthday and the owners have decided to extend their menu to incorporate something innovative. The cafe is soon aiming towards diversification by including bakery and homemade ice creams and planning to expand more outlets in the city. Delicious homemade cookies, pastries, muffins, and confectionaries will be the highlight of the new section where guests can choose their choice of yummy bites and take goodies back home.
The owners of Café Yonder Debanjana Batra and Sanjib Paul quote, “Here at Cafe Yonder we aim to provide the best of services in regards to food, hospitality, and comfort to our guests. Our menu is designed keeping in mind both the yesteryear delicacies and the modern tastes of our guests in mind. Our food menu is vast and ranges from continental, oriental, and fusion cuisine which is loved by our loyal customers. To celebrate the one-year anniversary of Yonder we are adding a fresh new section of bakery items on our menu which will now be cramped with delicious and fresh offerings.”
The soon-to-be-available bakery section would include a large menu including date walnut cake, coffee marble cake, fruit and nut cake, choco vanilla muffins, plain donuts tutti fruti muffins, and chocolate choco chip muffins. Many varieties of cookies would be available like butter cookies, oatmeal cookies, Iranian cookies, and chocolate choco chip cookies. For bread lovers, you get to choose from focaccia bread, Indian masala bread loaf, cheese garlic loaf, and sandwich bread. They will also bring energy bars without sugar and the goodness of oats dates seeds and nuts. The bakery menu also will have walnut brownies, blueberry cheesecake, and croissants. Especially for the winter plum cake would be available for the guests. You can also order celebratory cakes in any designs and flavors and cupcake bouquets of your choice for special occasions.
On being asked what the name of their café denotes, Debanjana explains, “Yonder” is an old English word meaning “not a far” something that is near. We chose this name as our Cafe is easily accessible due to its location.”
Debanjana adds, “Our inspiration behind opening Café Yonder was our love for food and interest in culinary heritage across the world along with serving and presenting the best of dishes to our guests. With the fresh bakery section now open, we want to provide our guests more options to indulge and satisfy their cravings and see the gleaming happiness in their eyes.”
A predominance of comfortable cane furniture adds to the very rustic eco-friendly vibe of the café cum bakery along with a large paludarium tank near the entrance that instantly catches the eye. This modern bistro, bright, airy, and cheerful covers an area of 2500 square feet, divided neatly into two sections with a glass partition in between. The enclosed section is apt for larger gatherings or parties and a huge wall-to-wall glass window overlooking the bustling street outside fills the entire space with light and mirth. The seating area is comfortable and spaced out with a capacity of 52 pax.
Owners Debanjana and Sanjib aim to continue serving their guests world-class dishes with the best quality products and introduce new and improved recipes in their menu according to the change in the palate of our guests.
The food menu boasts of hot-selling items like Meat Bibimbup a Korean rice bowl with various elements like chicken, vegetables, leafy greens, and Korean sauce topped with a fried egg. Dragon Chicken Bao another of Yonder’s much-loved dishes has Soft fluffy open bao (steamed buns) stuffed with spicy dragon chicken served with pickled vegetables, kimchi, and dragon sauce for those who love that extra fire in their taste buds. You can also combine your favorite veg and non-veg toppings for their unique in-house hand-tossed pizzas available in both veg and non-veg options.
The café is open on all days of the week from 12:30 pm in the afternoon to 10 pm at night. The average cost for a meal for two would be approximately Rs 700.
