The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly on Sunday (April 4) confirmed that the whole lot will go on ‘as per schedule’ within the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. His affirmation comes simply hours after the Maharashtra authorities introduced a weekend lockdown to curb the unfold of COVID-19.
“Everything will go on as per schedule,” Ganguly advised information company ANI. Maharashtra will enter strict weekend lockdown from Friday 8 pm to Monday 7 am, stated state Cabinet Minister Nawab Malik including that important companies and transportation together with buses, trains, and taxis will likely be allowed. A decision has been taken to shut down malls, restaurants, bars. Take away services will continue. Essential services will be allowed. Government offices will open with 50 per cent capacity. Industries will continue. There is no restriction on construction work, markets,” he stated.
“A decision has also been taken to impose strict lockdown from 8 pm on Friday to 7 am on Monday in Maharashtra. The decision has been taken after consultations,” he added. Wankhede Stadium is about to host 10 IPL video games this season from April 10 to 25. The first match in Mumbai is slated to be performed on April 10 between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings. Four franchises – Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, and Rajasthan Royals have arrange their base in Mumbai as of now. The fifth franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) can also be based mostly in Mumbai at present, however they are going to quickly transfer to Chennai to play their first match towards Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 11.

When requested if BCCI has written to the Health Ministry concerning gamers’ vaccination, Shukla stated the BCCI is mulling over the thought and they’re going to undoubtedly get in contact with the ministry that gamers needs to be vaccinated.
