New Delhi: The district periods court in Faridabad on Wednesday (March 24) pronounced the accused, Tausif and Rehan, guilty in Nikita Tomar murder case.
The quantum of punishment shall be selected March 26.
Tausif shot 20-year-old Tomar in broad daylight on October 26, 2020. The trial for this murder case started on December 1, 2020.
Azharuddin alias Azru, who was arrested on fees of supplying the country-made pistol used within the murder, was acquitted.
The unlucky incident occurred in Faridabad’s Ballabgarh area. The two accused tried abducting Nikita and when she resisted them one in every of them pulled out a pistol and shot point-blank at her. The sensational crime was even captured by somebody over the cell phone, the footage of which went viral over social media.
The police have arrested Tausif, the principle accused, and Rehan for allegedly killing the sufferer outdoors her faculty.
The incident triggered protests with college students and locals blocking the highway to Sohna on the next day.
Tausif, after his arrest, confessed to police that he shot Nikita as she was about to get married to a different individual. Initial investigation into the murder case has revealed that Tausif has been harassing Nikita for a very long time.
His braveness was elevated as a result of he comes from a robust political household, and this inspired him to go forward to serve his motive.
His household hails from the Mewat area, which within the current few years has emerged as the largest centre of crime in addition to radical Islam in India.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) took over the case. A risk of ‘love jihad’ was probed by the SIT as Nikita Tomar’s household alleged that Tausif was continuously forcing her for the wedding and get transformed to Islam.
